Sam and Lee: Rustic Charm and Waterside Romance at The Royal Oak Inn, The Splash 🌳💍


It was a beautiful and emotional day celebrating the marriage of Sam and Lee at The Royal Oak Inn, The Splash in Little Cawthorpe, Lincolnshire. This unique venue, known for its rustic charm and location alongside a scenic Ford (or "The Splash"), provided a stunning backdrop for their wedding story.


The day was marked by classic elegance combined with a rustic, countryside feel:

  • Attire & Theme: Sam wore a classic white strapless gown, and the couple opted for navy blue three-piece suits for the groom and groomsmen, accented with cheerful pink and coral ties and pastel boutonnieres. The floral arrangements featured beautiful pink, white, and pale blue flowers.
  • Venue & Ceremony: The ceremony took place in the Inn’s rustic indoor space, featuring exposed wooden beams and a heartfelt atmosphere, capturing many emotional and tender moments.

  • Waterside Romance: We took advantage of the Inn's picturesque setting, capturing incredibly romantic portraits by the peaceful stream and in the lush, terraced gardens with water features and stone steps. The elegant white dress contrasted beautifully with the tranquil, wooded environment.
  • Local Landmarks: The portrait session included a fantastic stop at a nearby historic black windmill, providing dramatic and memorable backdrops.
  • Fun & Personal Touches: The day was full of personal charm, including a playful moment captured with a large, decorative gorilla statue in the garden, reflecting the couple's sense of fun. The candid moments of guests sharing heartfelt laughs and emotional reactions during the reception speeches perfectly completed the story.
