There is something truly special about a wedding day where the only requirement is to have a wonderful time. On Saturday, 18th April, Nicola and Adam did exactly that. Their celebration at The Pelham Suite in Grimsby was the epitome of a "no pressure" wedding—laid-back, joyful, and focused entirely on the moments that mattered.
As a photographer, I thrive in these environments. With no morning preparation photos and a request for zero formal group shots, the day was allowed to breathe. It gave us the freedom to focus on the atmosphere and the genuine connection between the couple and their guests.
The Setting: Sage Greens and Sparkling Details
The Pelham Suite was transformed into a sophisticated and welcoming space, thanks to the incredible work of KR Bedazzle Decoration Grimsby. The color palette featured a stunning sage green, which was carried through the chair sashes, the floral arrangements, and even the elegant two-tier wedding cake.
The attention to detail was everywhere:
- The Table Plan: A classic mirrored design inviting guests to find their seats.
- The Decor: Beautiful white floral centerpieces in rustic wooden crates, accented by soft candlelight.
- The Atmosphere: Fairy lights and elegant white draping across the ceiling created a warm, romantic glow throughout the room.
The Couple Shoot
While the day was strictly informal, we did steal away for a dedicated couple’s session. This is often my favorite part of a relaxed wedding; without the ticking clock of a long list of formal group photos, Nicola and Adam could simply be themselves.
Nicola looked stunning in a sequined, off-the-shoulder gown that caught the light perfectly, while Adam kept it sharp in a grey waistcoat and mint green tie, perfectly complementing the wedding's color theme. Their easy-going nature made capturing their portraits a breeze.
A Stress-Free Celebration
From the pouring of the prosecco to the cutting of the cake, the energy remained light and celebratory. It was a day that reminded me why I love what I do—capturing the essence of a couple's story without the rigid structure of a traditional wedding schedule.
