Live at Leeds 2013

Having applied for press accreditation I was pleased to be asked to be part of the official photography team for this years Live at Leeds.

Always good to see new bands, last years event included Bastille and Spector. This years headliners where current number one single act Rudimental who where great fun to shoot at the Academy.

Pentax K-5 mkii and the Pentax DA* 16-50mm f/2.8 lens Sandisk Extreme 45mb/s SDHC

Simple Minds Hull City Hall

I had the pleasure of photographing Simple Minds for their facebook page. Having photographed numerous times before I knew the lighting would be immense from the back of the stage and this occasion was no different. Thankfully the new Pentax K-5 mkii and the DA* 16-50mm lens where well up for the task in hand.

Wedding photographer Normanby Hall

I had the honour of shooting Anna & Phil’s lovely wedding at Normanby Hall in Scunthorpe. First Spring wedding and the ground was crisp white with snow and with a temperature around 2 degrees, we didn’t spend too much time outside.

Justin Bieber, Manchester Arena

Justin Bieber, Manchester Arena 2013

First gig of 2013 turned out to be the superstar Justin Bieber, after being told this was going to be a pit shoot, on arrival at Manchester Arena it turned out this was not the case and that we would be put around the soundboard. This was the first opportunity I have had to give my 400mm F/4 lens a run. With the new Pentax k-5 mkii the combination worked really well and I managed to get some good shots, it was just a little to long to get the whole of Justin’s wing into the frame.
