Finally finished my degree studies for the year so can relax at long last. So onwards with the photography work. Something different for me this time, I got to shoot Socceraid, have never shot football before so if you are going to do it dive in at the deep end and make Old Trafford home of Manchester United your first football shoot.
Having found the photoraphers entrance I was presented with my press pass and bib and made my way down the steps to the Old Trafford pitch and worked my way around behind the goal line, where the sports shooters where sat with their 400mm lenses and I even saw a 500mm lens impressive if your into lens porn, made me feel a little inferior with my 100-300mm f/4 lens.
Having sorted out my kit I made my way to the half way line to take photos of the lined up teams. Heavyweight celebs include Robbie Williams, Gordon Ramsey, Will Ferrel, Woody Harrelson, Michael Sheen, Mike Myers, Clarence Seedorf, Teddy Sheringham, Patrick Kielty, in fact it was difficult to not get starstruck at times.
Will Ferrel makes Teddy Sheringham laugh
After the formals and abide with me it was back to my position and shoot the game, unfortunately most of the game was happening at the wrong end of the pitch, but soon came down to our end.
At half time we where given a packing up with an ice cold bottle of water, hey I might shoot football more often if this is how you get treat, not like when we shoot music.
Some action in teh second half with Teddy Sheringham injuring Gordon Ramsey
And then Will Ferrel had to go off injured
